Description
Each shipping port 16-pack contains the parts to make 16 IN-City shipping containers and one card stencil to help paint them faster. Each container measures approximately 2.25″ x 2.25″ x 5.4″. These kits are made of MDF and card. To make this the most affordable and easy to assemble shipping container kit we could, we chose to use a pre-fabricated card box and added MDF details as a shell around it. This lets us to have lots of deep details while keeping our cut time, price, and your assembly time to a minimum. These models come unassembled and unpainted. Normal hobby tools and superglue or white glue are required for assembly. For best results we recommend Rust-Oleum brand filler primer for coating before painting. Painting Tips:
- Paint the frame and the box separately to easily use the included stencil to add detail in a snap.
- Use a ripped up piece of open-cell foam to dab dark brown paint along the edges to give the look of paint chips and rusty spots.
- Some spray-paints may make some of the fiber of the card stand up. If this happens, simple let the paint dry fully and wipe it down with a lint free cloth or a gloved hand. The fibers usually become brittle with dry paint and brush away easily. If this happens, it is typically only on the first coat.
